Religious Education

As a church school, Religious Education (RE) holds a special place in the curriculum at Fritchley as it allows our children to think about the 'big questions' in life. Our RE curriculum is largely based upon the Derbyshire and Derby Locally Agreed Syllabus with supplementary units to ensure the children are learning both about religion and from religion . Children discover, explore and consider many different questions. They learn the perspectives of people of different faiths and of none and use these to find answers or a greater understanding.  Children begin their exploration in the Early Years (Nursery and Reception) within the Early Learning Goals of personal, social and emotional development and Understanding the World. This knowledge and understanding is then further developed in Key Stages 1 and 2.

During their time at Fritchley, our children explore:

Christianity, using the Church of England's 'Understanding Christianity' materials.
